A Day in the Life of Your Cat

Welcome to a day in the life of a cat at Woodbend Kennels. I'm your host, Ellie!

The first time I vacationed at Woodbend Kennels, I must admit, I was intrigued. The car ride was a bit of a blur, but the new smells, let’s just say I was “fur-tainly” interested. The introduction to my cozy kennel suite was fascinating. There were so many new scents to explore—I felt like a feline explorer on a grand adventure!

My human was a bit worried about how I’d adapt to my new surroundings (I am quite the sophisticated city kitty). But I adapted with my usual grace and elegance, and even received a treat for my poise (Humans and their treats—they really are quite easy to charm).

The following days were filled with awe and admiration from my new human staff. They were practically “paws-truck” by my Olympic level napping skills. Meanwhile, the dogs? Well, let’s just say their idea of a vacation seems to involve a lot of slobber and chasing their tails.

My Daily Itinerary:

  • 7:30 a.m. - My personal butlers served me breakfast (as per my mom's instructions). They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I say "Its only half full". Unlike the dogs, who engage in diving into their bowls face first. Purr-fectly irritating.
  • 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - I played with my favorite toy from home, napped in my bed, and graciously accepted a game of chase-the-string with my butlers. I observed the ongoings outside my suite with a mix of curiosity and disdain, as only a cat can. The dogs, on the other hand, spent their time barking at nothing. Such commoners.
  • 1:00 p.m. - The butlers came by to provide me affection while the dogs enjoyed a frolic. I was the “purr-fect” audience for their antics and kept my opinions to myself—mostly. I suppose it’s cute when they try to play tag, although its rather pathetic compared to my precision pouncing.
  • 1:30 p.m. - I just enjoyed the view from a comfortable perch. They say curiosity killed the cat, but I prefer to think of it as “selective interest.”
  • 2:00 p.m. - I relaxed and napped on a comfy bed and dreamed of chasing lasers and elusive red dots danced through my mind.
  • 5:00 p.m. - Dinner time! Afterward, I mostly inspected my domain to ensure everything was in order. An odd magic seemed to take place with my litter box, always fresh and clean, further investigation required.
  • 7:00 p.m. - I’m quite content and ready for a bed. Perhaps a little catnip to end my day. They say cats dream of chasing mice, but I prefer to dream of endless sunbeams and gourmet treats. I’m sure the dogs just dream of chasing their own tails—how delightfully pedestrian.

I feel like I’m on a luxurious retreat when I visit Woodbend Kennels.

I give Woodbend Kennels 4 paws up! (I bet those dogs are grateful I witnessed their mediocre antics.)

Disrespectfully,

Ellie
