A Day in the Life of Your Dog

Welcome to a day in the life of a dog at Woodbend Kennels. I'm your host, Moppers!

The first time I was brought to Woodbend Kennels with my family, I was very excited! The car ride, new smells, geese at the pond... wait... are those live? I ran to investigate. Thankfully for my mom (and the geese), I was on my leash, so I penciled geese inspection into my vacation agenda for a later date.

I was introduced to my private kennel suite for my stay. It was new, exciting and full of intriguing new smells that I had never inspected before. My mom was worried that I wouldn't know how to operate the door flap to get outside to my private yard (I am a city slicker and all), but I zipped right through immediately! I received a snack for doing that (Oh, humans—so easy to manipulate). You know, they say I’m a bit of a "bark-tender" when it comes to treats!

The coming days were full of "ooo"-ing and "awe"-ing over me from my new human butlers. They even asked if I was "paws-itively" enjoying my stay. Spoiler alert: I totally was!

My Daily Itinerary:

  • 7:30 a.m. - My personal butlers served me breakfast (as per my mom's request). They say the early dog gets the kibble, and I say, “Bring it on!”
  • 7:45 a.m. - A walk around the pond (the leash was NOT my preference, as those geese had my name on them!). On chillier days, I was suited up in my booties and jacket. I looked like a fashion model for the "Paws and Furs" magazine!
  • 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - I played with a favourite toy, napped in the sun, and got to play tug-of-war with my butlers. I took in fresh air and barked at a butterfly. I’m not sure if it was a "ruff" day for the butterfly, but I gave it my best shot!
  • 1:00 p.m. - The butlers gave me some cuddles while the big dogs were let out in an area to play a game of tag. They told me I was the "ruff" referee!
  • 1:30 p.m. - I got suited up and went for a long yard tour. I led them via the scenic route, let’s be honest—I was on sniff paw-trol.
  • 2:00 p.m. - I relaxed and snoozed on a comfy bed while dreaming of chasing squirrels and not being told to "stay" for once!
  • 5:00 p.m. - I had my dinner and took another little stroll. After all, a dog's gotta eat, and a dog’s gotta strut!
  • 7:00 p.m. - I’m tuckered and ready for a bedtime treat. Zzzzzzzzz. They say dogs dream in color, and I think I dreamed of a buffet of belly rubs!

I feel like I'm on vacation when I visit Woodbend Kennels (don't tell my mom). She says I now bark and run around with excitement in the car when we are driving up the driveway! I have new adventures to smell! If I could give advice to future visitors, I’d say, "Paw-sitively enjoy every sniff-tacular stay!"

I give Woodbend Kennels 4 paws up! (Those geese get zero paws up—talk about a feather-ruffling experience.)

Signing off!
